With a couple of decades of pastoral ministry experience preaching and studying Scripture weekly, I should have had no trouble starting a gospel conversation. But the truth is, I had a hard time steering the conversation to spiritual realities. After an hour or so of small talk and trying to turn the conversation to the gospel, I finally and awkwardly blurted out, “Are you believers?” “Believers in what?” the woman responded. I spent the next three minutes presenting the plan of salvation. As I finished,
